Our first public service was held at the banquet room of an area motel
in Blue Springs, Missouri, on Sunday, August 7th,
2000. Pastor Gordon and his wife, Shari,
carried the vision of small group ministry deeply in their hearts as they began
to cast that vision to those first early members. The vision was simple: love
God and love people. The example was Jesus Himself! The Master Church Builder,
Jesus Christ, began with just 12 men and carefully poured His life into them
throughout three and a half intensive years of ministry; thus equipping them to
reach other faithful men, train them and send them out. And so the vision for
MULTIPLICATION continues to this very day. CCF set out to follow in His steps.
The church has continued to grow! Leaders were developed, home life
groups were started, and our Sunday Celebration began to flourish. In August
2005 God provided a miracle and we purchased our present church home!
What’s next?
Our theme for the coming years is “Pressing In, Pressing On!” The
Apostle Paul wrote,
“Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended; but [this] one thing
[I do], forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forth unto those
things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high
calling of God in Christ Jesus!”
It’s our desire at CCF to go deeper into intimacy with Jesus by pressing into
Him more…listening for His Voice…and then pressing on in obedience to what He’s
saying!
Each year will be a time of defining and living out the true DNA of our
calling. There will be seasons of fasting proclaimed throughout the year as we
draw nearer to Him. Our celebration services will flow with the intention of
ministering deeply to God…and flowing in ministry to each other. And you’ll
notice that our seeking Him through prayer and worship will be more intense and
more of the focus in our home groups.
Each of us will begin to identify our personal ministry gifts and discover
how, where, and to whom He wants us to minister as we personally continue to
grow in our knowledge of Him and His Word!
So how about you? What is the “one thing” you desire most? What is the cry of
your heart? Are there hidden longings in your life that you desperately need God
to meet this year? Are you content with where you are spiritually? Do you long
to see God move in power your life? Are you tired of “ho-hum-life-as-usual?”
